Reliable Car Park Refurbishment from Thelwell Flooring
Thelwell Flooring were recently employed by South Lakeland House MSCP in Kendal to refurbish the car park based at the building. The surface of the car park was deteriorating due to water ingress and the old and worn appearance needed a refresh.
Patching up the Surface
The original asphalt surface had shown many of the typical problems often found on car parks such as splits, cracks and blisters. In addition to this, when an asphalt surface is hot it can become very soft and change shape and so many cars had left ruts and tyre depressions on the surface. Due to this, extensive patch repairs were required on the deck of the car park to fix the various holes and depressions that were present.
The cracks were repaired by removing parts of the damaged surface and adding a layer of Triflex Prodetail to the surface. Fabric resin reinforcement was then used to encapsulate the repairs.
Making the Surface Waterproof
Once the repairs had been completed, Triflex Deckfloor decking was installed to ensure the surface and all perimeter vertical junctions were waterproof.
The Finishing Touch
After the Triflex system was installed, the car park was finished by spray painting all new line-markings onto the surface as per the client’s design.
